ABOUT JEFF MEJIA

Jeff Mejia has over 10 years of vast exposure towards Total Quality Management and its strategic implementation for green field, turn over and sustaining companies. He has built Operational Excellence Programs including start-up of program governance for diverse quality models and repositioning the organization’s framework to meet their quality-centric objectives. His name is remarkable in the area of Lean Six Sigma training being able to have trained over a thousand of Lean Six Sigma enablers, including Executives, Champions, Black, Green and Yellow Belts here and abroad. His distinctive mark is his ability to fuse the science and application of Lean Six Sigma and still have it appreciated from the stakeholders down to all band levels. He is regarded not only as a consultant but as a practitioner who is able to bring multiple Lean Six Sigma projects to its timely closure and was able to design and develop Lean Six Sigma programs for several entities.

2003

Jeff Mejia graduated With Honors finishing Bachelor of Science Major in Statistics at the University of the Philippines – Diliman. Three months after, he became a Quality Specialist for SPi Global, one of the leading BPO companies to this date and eventually promoted as a Quality Officer within one year of tenure. During his stint, he spearheaded the enterprise deployment of Lean Six Sigma and has led the Continuous Improvement Program for 2 consecutive years. He has been exposed not only to Lean Six Sigma but even to other quality models such as ISO Quality Management System, Balanced Scorecard, Customer Satisfaction Index, CMMi and Information Security. Moreover, he has been an integral player to the organization’s achievement of CMMi Level 05 certification.

2004

Jeff Mejia was formally trained on Six Sigma Fundamentals by Stat-A-Matrix under Charles Aubrey, one of the pioneering leaders in Lean Six Sigma and, on Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Program under Quality Assurance Institute (India).

2005

At the age of 23, he was formally granted with the entitlement of SIX SIGMA BLACK BELT coming from two independent bodies: Quality Assurance Institute in India and American Society for Quality in the US.

2006

Formerly IBM Daksh Philippines and now known as IBM Global Process Services, Jeff Mejia has served as the Head of the Business Intelligence Department. During his time, he was able to reposition the group’s function into a consulting body focusing on Strategic & Competitor Research, Compliance Arm, Process Improvement/Six Sigma and Data Assessment Center. He has been designated as an IBM Internal Quality Management System Auditor to assess organizational compliance towards ISO 9001:2008. In that same year, he has been awarded the highest Personal Business Commitment Rating given on an annual basis and has been regarded as part of the Most Outstanding Employees circle.

Year 2006 when he also started to become active in the local arena and is starting to be known as a budding expert in the Lean Six Sigma community; this is the year where he first partnered with Philippine Society for Quality as a Resource Speaker for their 18th National Quality Forum. Philippine Society for Quality is the premiere organization in the country that is the flagship of cascading Quality initiatives across the region.

2007

Jeff Mejia joined PERA Neville-Clarke Philippines Inc., one of the most tenured and internationally known firms globally. He was designated as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and was responsible for providing Quality Consultancy, Audit and Training Services focused on Operational Excellence pathway inclusive of Lean Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, Balanced Scorecard, Project Management, Re-engineering, Data Analytics and Continuous Improvement Techniques. During this time, he had been fortunate to have a ground and in-depth exposure towards Lean deployment and has a good mix of practical application both to manufacturing and service sectors.

Further on, he was also designated as one of the organization’s Master Black Belts who perform assessments on clients’ Lean Six Sigma projects and conduct of Training Programs and modular courses.

2009

Jeff Mejia was positioned as the Philippines’ Process Excellence Regional Head and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt for Thomson Reuters Inc. He was tasked to institutionalize the Lean Six Sigma program to Manila, Philippines in parallel with the programs deployed in Beijing, Bangalore, Singapore and Gdynia. He built the program from scratch commencing from preparation of stakeholders going towards Initial Project Ideation Generation and deployment of projects.

2010

Jeff Mejia aggressively went to the entrepreneurial path and from setting up a sole proprietorship firm, he tied a strong affiliation with DigiLEAF Inc., one of the countries’ known quality consulting bodies with a solid expertise on IT Architecture, Development and Governance. His firm became the outsourced partner to build the business side on Enterprise Quality covering training, audit and consulting in the area of Quality Management, inclusive of which is Lean Six Sigma.

 

2011

Jeff Mejia has been conferred with the title of LEAN SIX SIGMA MASTER BLACK BELT from the International Alliance of Quality Professionals (IAQP) registered in the Netherlands.

2012

Jeff Mejia has managed to establish a strong following in the Quality Community most especially in the area of Lean Six Sigma. He was able to coach and mentor projects to their completion and has earned his solid mark in the service sector for successfully adapting the practice of Lean Six Sigma on industries heavy on direct customer interaction. His passion and in-depth knowledge has crossed financial institutions, BPO’s/KPO’s, real estate, sales and distribution, manufacturing, forwarding, government, electricity, telecommunications, SME’s and even healthcare to name a few. He has graced noteworthy conferences sponsored by known organizations in the country such as Fiera De Manila which had been sponsoring the country’s conference on Lean Six Sigma since 2010, Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Association of Service Professionals in Life Insurance, Advertising Foundation of the Philippines, Call Center Association of the Philippines and Philippine Clinical Research Professionals.

2014

Jeff Mejia continued to provide Quality consulting service local and overseas and had been known as one of the top Lean Six Sigma consultants in the region. Jeff Mejia has turned his sole proprietorship firm into incorporation and has founded MEJIA Strategic Solutions Inc., still true to its thrust of providing world par knowledge and practical application of Quality Initiatives, making it simpler without compromising the quality methods’ depth and strategic value.

TODAY

Today, Jeff Mejia has a massive and productive portfolio of having trained thousands of individuals across various industries and functional levels, had deployed Strategic Continuous Improvement Programs across 50+ organizations, had deployed programs locally and even far across Asia and the Pacific, was able to mentor and coach completed Lean Six Sigma projects summing to million dollar savings validated and, had institutionalized mindset which became the platform of multiple organizations’ Quality DNA. Jeff Mejia grew from an individual hungry for learning and now, hungrier to share his voice to a wider avenue. His passion grew immensely to uplift the awareness that Quality Maturity does not exclude any, it does not constrain anyone and it does not inhibit creativity. He continues to capture industries and makes methodologies and techniques available in the simplest and most practical language possible. For him, it is more than just teaching how to calculate indices; rather, it is how you bring this wisdom into AHA moments that would be able to turn lives for the better.
